20th May 2007 – Official Opening Ceremony

Afternoon events

The afternoon saw the formal events take place with speeches from Mark Nuttall (SRGUG) and Grahame Thomas (Cory Trust). Following this, Danny Crates (Paralympic 800m Gold medallist from SLH) unveiled the commemorative plaque as he officially opened the Clubhouse. John Green then hoisted the new SRGUG flag for the first time. There followed a buffet and drinks for all the invited guests.

Evening events

Late evening tennis.

The evening saw members let their hair down as they relaxed and celebrated the official opening. It was an evening of fine entertainment provided by two top bands to which members danced the night away.
